Calambuco is one of the leaders of the “new colombian salsa” that is exploding from Bogotá. Cadet of La 33, the Calambuco orchestra first appeared in 2005 to come back to the roots of salsa: a Cuban orchestra with a heavy and bestial sound, for a tribute to the golden age of the salsa in Cali and the 70’s. Of course they do not stop there and enrich their salsa dura with descarga, guajira, chachacha, currualo, bolero… Produced by Mauricio Castillo, singer of Grupo Niche, the second album of Calambuco 'Rompiendo el cuero' was released first in Colombia in September 2009.
