Baltazar Montanaro-Nagy, a violinist with multiple influences - Mediterranean and Hungarian because of its origins - has been developing for some time already stated an interest for music started and is passionate about the sounds and noises of this hidden "so small piece of wood" , the strings, but also the body of the instrument (bow, bridge ...) is used in search of a new material sound source of a renewed emotion.
At few steps from his thoughts, he mets Japanese Tadahiko Yokogawa masteracousmatic and MAO, loving working as the musical material, and which, through its electronic process, allows almost infinite exploration of the violin.
Red Rails was born digital and organic ... Meeting of a violin and a computer.
The game is simple : the violin is the source, it creates the melodies and moods. Then the computer registers, processes and reorganizing the material in real time. The two artists constantly seek to surprise each other by taking the game as improvisation. This gives rise to an intuitive music, building up successive layers, which still reflected the melodic inspiration of traditional music from Eastern Europe.
A third accomplice, Serge Ortega comes to decorate this violin /computer conversation with effects and samples, by varying intensities, and color filters while working finely spatialization of sound, which gives an extra core to all .
The sound architecture really takes shape with the presence of Dominique Poutet "Otisto 23", producer of numerous electro albums (Gaël Horellou on label DTC Records, "Pc Pieces" and "Fly!" with Laurent de Wilde ... ), which size, refines and sculpts the material for this album so special.
But beyond the technology used is well with the sensitivity of the two artists that we owe the success of this disc. Red Rails saw himself as a poem in which electroacoustic repetitive loops of Tadahiko meet traditional inspirations Baltazar and suggests analmost film music, who can imagine a soundscape in perpetual motion.
The project unfolds on stage with the creation of multimedia Vercey Renaud, repeating frame for the illustrations in the comic book "Caresses Déraillées" conducted by Baltazar Montanao-Nagy in 2008.
