When they formed “Palimpseste”, Philippe Deschepper, Bernard Santacruz and Christine Wodrascka already knew one another well enough after having regularly collaborated in various contexts and musical projects.
The occasion of a residential lighting work session brings them to take further their collective approach in the field of improvisation, to give a meaning to their work.
For, their choice of a difficult path is not based on the refuse of conventions but on the will to find new ways, far from the comfort of recognised identity signs.
Strong with their mutual trust and the will to face and explore sound landscapes where everything is possible, they go back to their roots and to rough material to patiently build their universe : perpetual movement and permanently effervescent, structured by a tense narrative line, not avoiding the roughness of contrasts but devoting a wide space to a multitude of singular and mysteriously beautiful images.
Mineral, coming from chaos, dense and rich with assumed freedom, music springs from contact, exchange and sharing between musicians who judiciously choose to work collectively and serenely impose their aesthetic vision. Aesthetics open to fellow visions. Here with the luminous and beautiful clever vision of Jean-Luc Cappozzo, wonderfully intertwining into collective improvisation .
